I’m Lauren Crawford a writer, author, and poet. I jam a graduate from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. I am currently writing a speculative fiction novel City of Silver and a poetry collection Dream of Day. The Ocean - (My Most Recent Poem)

Reciting poetry in the ocean

To clear my minds devotion

To You

& your mind body and soul

Replace it with

Sea salt and cool air

Sun peeking from the moving clouds

I don’t care about you here

Summers cool in the ocean

Soft waves push me in a motion

Towards the shore

The sand

The burn of the sun

I hold onto my youth to stay forever young

Taste of my pina colada rum lips

Hot like a loaded gun

-I wrote this Poem at the end of April on a beautiful beach during my Graduation vacation. I had to rush to the shore to type the word in my phone after they popped in my head during a swim. I have 120 other poems, 62 of which are in my collection. I love writing about the ocean as it's my favourite place.
